Comforted through tragedy

1964 was the year in which my life changed for “eternity”.

Hi, my name is Deb Baohm, and I am a born again Christian, baptized by full immersion, and filled with the Holy Spirit, speaking in unknown tongues as was the experience of the first Disciples on the day of Pentecost. In Acts chapter 2, Peter the Apostle stated that this experience was not just for those present that day, but for all future generations. When someone pointed this out to me I was overjoyed, and could not wait to have my life changed by God’s in -dwelling presence.

> To say my life changed for eternity is an understatement, I am not saying that everything in the garden has been “rosy” these past 50 years, we are all subject to what the world (Satan) can throw at us, and I have lived through some very distressing times, from the death of my two brothers and parents in tragic circumstances to personal sickness, the loss of a job leading to financial difficulty, and family trauma, some, or all of which the reader may have also experienced.

> The difference for me is, that I have had the comfort, peace and strength of a Saviour with whom I have a personal relationship.
> For example when I found out that my young brother had been killed in a car crash, I was able to pray in my God given language and talk to God, who then responded by bringing comfort and peace, enabling me to cope with this tragic event.

> In times of sickness I have sought The Lord for his healing power, as promised in the scriptures, and provided by Jesus when He was crucified on the cross, “by his stripes we are healed”. In 1974 I gave birth to my second child, it was in a small country hospital, and because they were very busy that night , an oversight took place, and the afterbirth was not completely expelled, resulting in me becoming very ill with infection. A short time later it was discovered that adhesion’s had formed , resulting in my ovaries being displaced, causing severe pain, the Drs answer to that was to perform a hysterectomy. As I had had a difficult pregnancy, I could not face yet more medical intervention, so I asked the Lord to heal me, which He promptly did. Upon attending the Surgeon for a pre-op examination, he stated that all seemed normal now, and as I was pain free it was decided to cancel the scheduled surgery.

> The Lord’s sacrifice on the cross, conquered death, the only real stronghold Satan had over mankind. His shed blood paid the price for our sin, and because He rose again we now have access to eternal life. There is however something we need to do to claim these promises, repent, be baptized, as Jesus was, by full immersion, and receive The Holy Spirit, with the Bible evidence of speaking in tongues.

We live in troubled times and according to Bible prophesy the world will continue on it’s downhill slide, scripture states “that in the last days men’s hearts will fail them for fear”
I urge the reader to take heart, the Bible does not “pull any punches” and tells it how it is, and will be, but it also tells of the Good News, Jesus return, no more sickness, pain or sorrow, and wonder of all wonders, perfect government.

God Bless Deb Baohm
